The approximately 10-minute Concertino for Double Bass and Piano, Op. 128, is a concertante work. It is well suited, for example, to preparing young double bass players in music schools for playing with an orchestra, as well as for learning various playing techniques.

In addition to arco and pizzicato, the focus is on cantable playing, melodic leading in the high register, and double stops in the third movement.
